All three depositions recorded in this italic hand (in RH's & MP's batch) involve Capt. Jonathan Walcott's children as deponents. This might indicate that the scribe had a connection to the household. The general aspect of David Ferneax's signature in ecca1299 bears a certain resemblance to the hand in question, so the possibility of Ferneax as the scribe can not be ruled out. The three depositions recorded in this hand also share some phraseology (eg "terrified me much" in ecca1284 and ecca1303). |
